My game server is lagging
How to tell whether lag comes from your server, your plan or your connection.
- Open your server page and look at the live memory, CPU and storage meters. A meter close to full means the server needs more resources.
- Remove heavy mods or plugins, reduce view distance and the number of loaded areas, then restart during a quiet time.
- If memory stays near its limit, upgrade from Change plan on your server page. We check capacity first and charge nothing if there is no room.
- Compare with another connection or device to rule out a problem on your side.
- Check the network status page for any known issue in your region.
Never share your password, a bot token, a private key or card details with anyone, including Hartwell staff.
